Social representations of psychology: When paradoxes become a strength

چکیده
This article investigates the understanding by different groups of what psychology is and psychologists do. We first recall some tensions that fuelled discipline underpinned its institutionalization in France. Then, drawing on social representations (SR) theory wind-rose model, we explore how SR psychologist are developed two when these come together. The study shows future construct, during their studies, a paradoxical profession, which echoes historical tensions: they neither abandon common-sense ideas, nor do integrate psychological dimensions to develop global approach person. second study, conducted context legal innovation faced multi-professional teams charge assessing disabilities, very profession order serve local power relationships.
